The first sketches for the vases were playfully entitled ‘Eskimo woman’s leather trousers’. He would never say how his glass designs should be used , he wanted the user decide. The undulating forms of the Aalto collection are like the Finnish landscape with it’s thousands of lakes – beautiful, alive, and untamed. Meticulously handcrafted by Glassblowers at the Iittala factory.
