When it rains, the water level in the glass container rises. The scale measures the rainfall in both millimetres and inches. Set up the rain gauge by pushing the metal rod into the ground, and press the plastic holder in place on the spike. Place the glass container in the plastic holder. Remember to empty the container after each reading.
